hOW DO I APPLY?
Applications are accepted on the last Friday of each month at Station #2, 910 West Harding Street in Morley. Applicants are required to complete and submit an employment application. If applicable, provide copies of professional licenses and met with our oral interview board.
I understand a background investigation will be conducted. what will this entail?
Each applicant will be required ,to submit to a criminal records check and employment work references may be conducted.
Can i access this application on-line or have one sent to me?
Yes you can obtain an application on-line by clicking on the Apply Online Link. We do not mail applications.
Is it possible to become a firefighter without prior experience?
Yes, it is possible. Our department members have the opportunity to attend training.
If I HAVE COMPLETED FIREFIGHTER I & II, WOULD I NEED TO REpeat THE COURSE.
No, but we encourage everyone to train to maintain the skills learned.
Are you able to apply again if you have already applied previously and was not awarded a position?
You are welcome to apply again if you are not selected you may reapply after January 1 of each year.
What qualifications are required to be a probationary firefighter?
Applicants must be 18 years of age and must possess a valid drivers license.
Can I be a member of your department if I have a felony conviction?
Applicants with felony convictions will not be considered for employment
How many positions are available?
The number of positions available is determined by the staffing needs of the department.
is there a pre-employment drug screening?
Yes, all applicants must undergo and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
